PACWC identifies and works on projects associated to strengthening the setting for women at Pitt. The Spotlight on Women Leaders program was created by PACWC to rejoice, share, and inspire women’s leadership across the Pitt community. In addition to rallying around worldwide humanitarian relief, volunteering with the Red Cross overseas, and contributing to the consolation of troopers in the trenches, the State of Michigan was the site of serious civilian mobilization. No. ninety seven of the Public Acts of 1917, established a fund of $5,000,000 to be borrowed from the state to determine “for the aim of repelling invasion and defending the State and nation in time of warfare in opposition to all enemies and opposers in any way” .
